9:30 Bodega Domaine St Diego
In Maipu we will begin our tour at Bodega Domaine St Diego. This is a traditional bodega, that features a small and familiar atmosphere. The head sommelier at Bodega Domain St Diego is Angel Mendoza, formerly the head sommelier of Bodega Trapiche. With itīs beautiful vineyards, unique irrigation systems, and wide variety of wines, Bodega Domaine St. Diego is a great place to start our tour.
Wines to taste: Sparkling wine, Pura Sangre (80% Malbec and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon), Paradigma (60% Malbec | 20% Cabernet Sauvignon | 20% Cabernet Franc).
11:00 Trapiche
Next we will head to Trapiche, a beautiful antique bodega that has recently been remodeled. This iconic Argentinean bodega is one of the main wine exporters in the country, exporting to over 80 countries world-wide. Trapiche is known for its experimentation with biodynamic wine-producing techniques and exceptional wines.
Wines to taste: Trapiche Fond De Cave Gran Reserva, Trapiche Gran Medalla (Cabernet Sauvignon), and Trapiche Iscay.
12:30 Lunch at Zuccardi
Bodega Zuccardi is a large-scale modern winery with excellent oils, wines, and a traditional asado (Argentinean barbecue). Zuccardi is known for being the only winery in Argentina with over 35 varieties of wine in production. Not only will you be able to taste a few of these varieties, you will also have the option of pairing your lunch with a cooking class and olive oil tour at the winery (please mention that you would like to do this and we will be happy to arrange a cooking class and olive oil tour for you).
Wines to taste: Q Malbec, Serrie A Torrentes, Q Cabernet Sauvignon.
