9:30 Bodega Catena Zapata
Dr. Nicolas Catena, a pioneer of quality viniculture, was the first wine-maker to experiment with planting his vines in high altitude. As a result of the high altitude, which features hostile conditions, he found that the skins of the grapes were thicker thus making the wines more intense. In these high altitudes, Catena found more acidity and freshness, thus creating delicate aromas. This beautiful bodega is in the form of a Mayan Pyramid, and boasts a breath-taking view of the Andes mountain-range.
Wines to taste: Catena Alta Chardonnay, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon.
